In the days of film photography, I experimented with super-slow ortho/litho high contrast film. It was never intended to capture grey scale images, or action, but when forced, it created some interesting images. In this example, I found the combination of exposure time, super bright daylight conditions, a tick of camera motion, and a wide open lens setting to capture movement in a pickup game. The difficulty of this effort was that you never knew what you had captured until you had it in the darkroom days later. I am working on setting to recreate similar effects using a digital camera.
